Classes and Teachers

Our Classes

At Hollin Hall, children are placed in classes with other children close to their age. The children interact with each other by playing with toys, reading books, working on arts and crafts, and playing on our large, secluded playground. They learn social skills that will help them throughout their lives.

The children work on different units in their classrooms. The children learn their letters, numbers, shapes, and colors by doing crafts, working on worksheets, reading stories, and singing songs. They also do projects for the holidays as well as study the environment, the 5 senses, dinosaurs, and more. To get exercise and release energy each day, weather permitting, the children go outside and enjoy our large, newly renovated playground.

To add to what the children do in the classrooms each day, we use the Mother Goose Time and Appelbaum Training Institute curriculums. They also participate in special classes such as Spanish, Music, Art, and Phys Ed.

Extracurricular classes are also offered for an additional fee. They are Dance Class, Power Tots Gymnastics, and Excite Soccer.

Our Teachers

A school is only as good as its teachers and we are proud of ours. Our school is staffed with well-qualified, experienced, caring people who enjoy working with children. Our teachers and aides have more training than is required by the State of Virginia. Some are college graduates, while others are currently enrolled in college curriculum. Before hiring, the background and references of each applicant are carefully checked. Every employee of the school must have a criminal record check by the State of Virginia.
